3D Animation software

Postby Don Whitten » Mon Dec 10, 2007 5:28 am

I was over on the vegas forum just lurking and saw a thread about some free 3D animation software. Thought I would share it. I am downloading it now and will have to play with it but thought I let everyone know about it.

Wow! This looks pretty cool, Don! Especially because it seems to have a lot of pre-drawn 3D images.

I experimented for a while with a professional program called Poser, but I never went into a lot of depth with it. It made my brain hurt too much when I worked with images other than basic shapes.

Funnily enough I was also on the Vegas forum lurking as well.... :-D, registered this AM and came on here to post the link. It appears you can download extra content for the free base program as well.

I had a look at some of the samples people have produced with this. Fantastic if it's as easy* as people are saying.

* when I say "easy" I mean in comparison with some of the 3D animation software I've looked at!

If anyone is using this software and hasn't as yet downloaded all of the free content packs, I got an email Friday (which I've only just read properly) stating that some of them are going to become chargeable. They'll all remain free for the next 3 weeks.

Get 'em while you can.

Hi Chuck.

Assuming you've already downloaded the base pack, you need to then register via the "community" tab. Once logged in, goto the "content" section. Basically anything that isn't marked "premium" is free. But you add it to your shopping cart and go through the checkout process including "payment" as if you're being charged. You then end up with a link to your downloads area. The content can then be saved off from there. It's worth noting that everything remains (sorted alphabetically) in the your downloads section so after a while it's best to filter via category or date added to find your latest additions.
