Neat Video

Postby Chuck Engels » Fri Mar 17, 2017 10:54 am

I know that in the past many people here have used Neat Video. There have been some major updates to the program and discounts are available.

From the Neat Video Team:

Dear video enthusiast,

If you're a fan of great-looking video, the team at Neat Video invites you to experience the latest version - Neat Video 4.5 - to see just how much better the product has become.

Neat Video received a major update in 2015 with the release of Neat Video 4. It was a big leap, offering improved results - particularly in challenging conditions - and offered a better user experience thanks to a streamlined workflow and new tools. It also improved compatibility with modern software and hardware.

Since then, we've continued to make ongoing improvements with regular updates.
The latest of these add several powerful new tools for more accurate profiling and easier filter tuning, in addition to support for several new editing applications and GPUs. Neat Video 4.5 is available now and - as a license-holder of Neat Video v3 or earlier - you benefit from a preferential discount when you upgrade. We invite you to try it
out.

Thanks for the info, Chuck. Neat Video is awesome, and I didn't get the email (or I missed it). I will definitely look into upgrading.

EDIT:OK, great upgrade pricing, but one thing in the requirements I'm not sure about before I upgrade. How do you find your Compute Capability?

It says

"Only GPUs with Compute Capability 2.0 and higher can be utilized by Neat Video 4.2"

My graphics card is 3071MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780. :conf:

Since I did a just did a fresh install of the OS and all applications, and I found that the version of Neat Video I had was no longer compatible with Premiere Pro CC2017, I took advantage of the offer. I haven't had time to see how it compares, but I still, however, have to render the timeline to get smooth playback.

I'm still using CS6, which NeatVideo lists as still supported. It's a good offer for sure. I'll be able to purchase during the week and let you know sometime after that how it's working for me. Thanks again for your help! :TU:
