Pan and zoom tool on a rotated photo

Pan and zoom tool on a rotated photo

Postby dsttexas » Mon Nov 14, 2016 4:07 pm

A cell phone photo taken in vertical position, loaded into Media in horizontal position. I corrected rotation on the timeline. When I tried to use the basic pan and zoom tool, it displayed the image in the preview as horizontal making that task almost impossible. Any suggestions?

The best solution is to open the photo in Photoshop Elements and rotate it there and save it.

It shows correctly oriented viewing in Windows Explorer, Windows Photo, and in Photoshop Elements - no need to rotate. But it loaded into Premiere Media in a horizontal layout. Rotated it on timeline and then Pan and Zoom goes back to horizontal layout. I think this is a bug.

Is the photo sized to no larger than 2500x1875 pixels (72 ppi)?

I have this same problem with some photos on my phone, don't have a clue why this happens.
