Shake Stabiliser Doesn't Work With Transitions ?

Postby John Walker » Thu Jan 21, 2016 3:31 pm

I've checked in my copy of the excellent Muvipix Guide to Premiere Elements 14 but can't see the answer to this problem (it's probably in there though :D )

The 'Shake Stabiliser' works well but if I add a transition to either end of the clip the 'shake' is removed and a banner appears saying it needs to be run again.

I've tried adding transitions before and after running the 'shake' but the result is the same.

The 'Fade' option works but this isn't always what I require.

Any suggestions please.

Regards
John

I tried to duplicate your results on Windows 10.

I applied the Shake Reduction to a clip and, as you've said, when I added a transition, it asked me to run the Shake Reduction again.

But when I clicked the Shake Reduction button in the Applied Effects panel, it re-ran the analysis and applied the shake reduction with no problems.

I used the Cross-Dissolve transition on a DV-AVI clip.

Later I tried it on an AVCHD clip with the Swap transition. Same result.

BTW, when you rerun the Shake Reduction, are you selecting the clip, opening Applied Effects and clicking the Shake Reduction button under the Shake Reduction effect (as opposed to re-running Shake Reduction in the Adjustments panel)?

Thanks Steve

Sorry for delay in reply but I couldn't duplicate my original problem. I'm on a new project now but material specs the same.

I applied Shake Reduction and then a transition at each end and it worked perfectly first time - I didn't have to re-the Shake Reduction again. I rendered it in case that made a difference but it didn't. Very strange.

Anyway, I think that when I was having the problem, I was as you suggest re-running it in the Adjustments Panel. If it crops up again, I'll try the Applied Effects option to re-run it.

Thanks again

John
