where is "Where is"

Postby yosale » Mon Jan 04, 2016 4:53 pm

Usually, when I open a project and a piece of media is missing, Premiere asks me "where is - File Name?" However, recently that question doesn't pop up when media is missing. I am just presented with a directory but I don't know what is missing.
Any suggestions?

When the directory opens the name of the missing clip should be visible in the address bar.
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.

If you're note getting a "Where is" notice when you open a project, it usually means that, when the program did prompt you for the link, you select the Ignore option and then saved the project. This saves the "ignore".

But you can still manually link the file. Just right-click on it in the Project Assets panel and select Replace Footage -- then browse to the footage.

Steve,

Thanks. That works!!

I think my problem was that I deleted the Layouts folder in the project folder. I guess that the Layouts folder contained the links to the media.
