Unless Adobe removed this feature in Premiere Elements 14, you can do something similar there too. For a given video clip, the audio and video portions are linked. To copy and paste the audio portion, you need to unlink them. You do this from the clip on the timeline. Select the clip. You can unlink them permanently using the unlink audio and video command from the menu. Or, you can temporarily unlink them by alt+click on the audio portion of the clip. From there, you can copy the audio, move the cursor to where you want to drop it, and paste. It will probably only paste to audio track 1. Another way is to alt+double click on the audio portion of the clip in the timeline to bring up the audio in the preview window. Once there, you can drag from the preview window and drop onto any audio track. This works great in version 7 which I last used. Hopefully, it still works in version 14.
