I'd recommend checking Amazon.com. They've often got special prices that are even better than Adobe's "upgrade" price!

It is on Amazon, $150. The Upgrade is a better deal for now. $120 for both programs is really a very good deal.

Student edition Download size: 1 MB? What's that? An installer? or Subscription? Are they asking for any proof of school attendance?

I bought the upgrade package direct from Adobe. Installation was annoying with the need to download an Akamai installer. Also, it requires a log in when you open the apps. Does this mean you need to be online to use? I hope not!

You should only need to be online to sign in the first time.

You don't have to log in, it is not a requirement to run the application.
