Timeline moves on its own

Postby sadddletree » Sat Apr 23, 2016 11:26 am

Sometimes, for no known reason to me, when I am working with the timeline zoomed in, as I go to either side with my cursor the whole timeline will move toward the side the cursor is on. The further over to the side, the faster it moves. So I can't put in keyframes, etc. without it moving. Even going into Project Assets makes it move.

The only way I have been able to stop it is to undo multiple times till it quits, and sometimes it still comes back. Then I have to get out of the program to make it stop.

Why is it doing this? How do I make it stop?

Are you clicking the scroll wheel button on the mouse without realizing it?

I just tried that and it doesn't do it. Maybe I was not clear that the timeline is moving left or right depending on which side of the screen the curser is.

Are you on a Mac or a PC?

This was buggy behavior, particularly in the Mac version, from version 11 until version 13. It was addressed in version 14 -- though Mac users are still occasionally seeing it.

I am on a PC. Is there a fix?

It's worth upgrading to version 14 to stop this, used to drive me crazy !!

Maybe sometime, but I have learned that isn't a good idea in the middle of a project, and we have a ways yet to go on this one...

Thanks for all the info!
