Specific to Premiere Elements version 13
by MaggieMayLove » Mon Jul 13, 2015 4:10 pm
I have completed the video and am trying to burn it to a folder or the .iso file. Neither work. It goes for a couple of hours, says the burn is complete but I cannot find the folder anywhere on the computer. It's not where I saved it, even with a search of the computer, can't find the files. Do I need to render before burning to a folder? Any help would be so greatly appreciated.
I am using premier elements 13 on a windows 8.1 computer. Was able to burn to a folder earlier when I was practicing. Could the file be too large? And how would I find that information.
Thank you

No, you don't need to render, as the render files are not used for exporting.
I don't use Premiere Elements 13, so you will have to wait for a PRE El 13 user to give you some help.

Hi Maggie, Be sure that you are selecting the 8.5GB folder or ISO size and check the destination location of the folder that is being created, see below; 2015-07-14_14-07-29.jpg 2015-07-14_14-07-48.jpg If you are still having issues please give us a step by step of everything you do when trying to burn to a folder or ISO image and any errors that pop up.

I would only select the 8.5GB folder if I were intending to burn an 8.5GB disc -- the standard dvd disc is 4.7GB. The reason is that this will affect the amount of compression when you have "fit contents to available space" checked and may also affect optimization. If you select the larger value, the software can use lower compression then it otherwise would and it's possible that some videos will no longer fit on a standard 4.7GB disc.
If you burn to a folder, you can delete the OpenDVD folder and its contents. That folder is generated by the disc authoring library that Adobe is licensing to generate the DVD files, but it isn't used or needed by any dvd player and can be safely deleted.

Glad to hear changing that preference fixed the problem, Maggie! It seems to be related to certain graphics cards. I hope Adobe will address that odd bug nonetheless though.
