Talk about the "World's Most Versatile Camera™" here.

I have been wanting to get a slider for my GoPro so I decided to make an inexpensive DIY slider.
1. Old Roller skate: Remove the boot and keep the shoe plate. 2. Trolley Wheels: Replace the roller skate wheels with a set of trolly wheels. (4 wheels with berrings on Amazon for $13) 3. I used a GoPro mount but just as easy to drill a hole and use a camera mount. 4. PVC rails

Improvise, adapt, overcome. Nice project. Post some video when you have it.

Thank you
I will post some video too. I like this because it was so easy to make and because it can support the weight of a human it is designed really well and strong too. It will also roll really well on any smooth surface like a tabletop.

I'm trying to think of how to adapt it for use with a tripod.

Steve, In the one I saw they mounted a plate to the underside of the pvc pipes and then made an attachment for the tripod. I have also see it used with just 2 tripods on either end and the pvc rails in between.

How do they keep the PVC pipes from sagging? The reason I ask is because the pulley wheels shown in the first post above seem to be able to fit a 1/2" PVC pipe which would droop. I would use 1/2" electric metal conduit pipe which is much more rigid.
