A Light Exists in Spring

Postby sidd finch » Fri Mar 09, 2018 11:25 am

Well March can only mean one thing..... Bee's gathering honey and Plum blossoms. Always an event that will grab my attention..... and camera too. :)

Once again I have had the pleasure of our own Steve Grisetti providing his vocal talents as only he can. The video was recorded on a GoPro 5 black at 120 fps 1080p with a 52mm macro lens.

The narration is from a famous poem by Emily Dickinson who lived in the 1800's

Dickinson's work that was published during her lifetime was usually altered significantly by the publishers to fit the conventional poetic rules of the time. Dickinson's poems are unique for the era in which she wrote; they contain short lines, typically lack titles, and often use slant rhyme as well as unconventional capitalization and punctuation. Many of her poems deal with themes of death and immortality, two recurring topics in letters to her friends.

As always your critique is welcome.

Gorgeous! Some of your best work. The pans were so smooth. How did you do that? Great editing and mix of narration and music.

Thank you for the kind words Dave. I am happy very with this one.

For the pans I used a homemade slider consisting of a Lacrosse stick mounted to a stand and a sock under the camera to slide across the Lacrosse stick. Having Steve lend his voice is awesome. I was trying to make sure that the voice and the music mixed well so he was not drowned out.

While I was recording I happen to hear the bees flying around and tried to catch some shots of them pollinating. But they were pretty quick so I have a lot of footage of me spinning around trying to record the bee before it flies off to another flower.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Wonderful Sidd! And Steve's narration too. Did you use a macro on the GoPro?

Thank you....Yes mom I did use a macro. I am using the macro with a GoPro 5 black. I have to say I think that the camera captures color pretty well. And IMO Steve's voice puts it all together. Now I just have to convince you to add some of your AE work to a future video..... :conf:
