Rain Clouds Time Lapse

Postby sidd finch » Thu Oct 20, 2016 10:49 am

We finally got some much needed rain so I set up my camera to take a time lapse of the approaching rain clouds moving in. The seconde time lapse is the next morning after the rain had passed through.

Nice one Sidd. In the first vid, there is UFO showing in the top center. Edge on view. Did it ever land near you? :)

Unfortunately trying to record through a double pane caused a bunch of reflections to show. If you look at the sky portion you can see the 2 overhead lights reflecting in the video.

I wonder what that would look like with a Tilt-Shift effect.

Great example of wind going in two different directions at about 40. I wonder if that is "wind shear?"

A bit later, in the 50s, there were three clouds moving over a parking lot and they reminded me of acrobats doing cartwheels. So much fun!

Thanks for being so creative, Sidd!

The 2nd one reminded me of a ballet and the dance of the sugar plum fairy. Love cloud time-lapses :TU:

The clouds looked so menacing looking out of the east side of the building and then the next morning it looked like a completely on the west side of the building. I was also surprised at how there were 2 distinct layers of clouds each moving in a different direction.

The east side I have also seen a pair of red tailed hawks flying around looking for food. The would be a fun capture.
