Specific to Premiere Elements Version 12.

Pre 12& Windows 10

Postby cmarch2106116 » Wed Feb 03, 2016 5:25 pm

Any known issues with Windows 10. Started a new project and about 8 min of video footage into the project Pre 12 crashes continually. Had used Win 7 and 8 previously. Did not experience this problem. I am running Intel I7 with 32GBs Ram 64 bit. Windows error message reads: C:\Pre12\Main\Media Core\Audio Renderer\API\Inc\Audio Buffer/AudioSub Buffer. Would appreciate any help. Don't know who else to turn to. You guys have helped me before especially Steve. Thanks, C Marchiano

First, can you confirm that you installed Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 10 -- rather than installing on Windows 7 or 8 and then upgraded the operating system? If the latter, I'd definitely recommend an uninstall and reinstall.

Second, what audio files are you using your project, other than the audio that's attached to your video?

Steve, Thank you. I will try the uninstall and install. As far as video files used, I am using the audio attached to the vid files and mp3's or mp4's that I download from You Tube for soundtrack. I will get back to you with my results. Thanks again. Charles Marchiano

Rather than using MP3s or MP4s for your audio, convert them to WAV files using the free download Audacity. It may well resolve your issues.

Steve, The uninstall and reinstall option did not work. The program still crashes. Considering buying version 14. Wondering if that will resolve all of my issues? Charles

It's worth downloading the free trial to see, Charles. But definitely try before you buy.

Version 12 is very stable, and it's got the same underlying programming at its core. So if you're still having problems with version 14, it may be time to consider doing a little maintenance. Particularly since you've recently replaced your operating system.
