Making a poster sign in PRE12

Hello,
I am trying to make a sign in PRE12 that I can take to Costco to have a print made. I have created a new title in a PRE12 project that says "Door Prizes". I want to add an arrow pointing to the left. Can I use PRE12 or do this with PSE12 or a combination. I thought if I can make signs in Adobe I can save a photo jpeg file to disc and have Costco print it. Is this something that can be done?

This really is much more of a Photoshop Elements project, Ken.

What size will the sign be?

The title in Premiere Elements will be only the size of your project file. Even at HD 1920x1080 72ppi, that is really small to print. Yes, you can save as a jpg for export, but too small.

Do you have Photoshop Elements? If not, I can make you a sign in Photoshop. Send me a PM if I don't see your reply here.

I have PSE12. I need direction on how I can use PSE12 to makeup a sign that I can take to COSTCO to get printed. Appreciate your help if it can be done. I only know how to make titles in PRE12.

Hi Ken,

In PSE create a new file with the dimensions you want for the sign. You may want to check with Costco to see how large they can print.

For info purposes say you want 8 1/2 x 11:

In the Editor PSE:
Create a new file and select your size in the dialogue box with inches and a 300dpi. The background layer can be white or color or transparent.

Using the Type tool select your font and size. You can always later change the font, size and color by double clicking on the Type layer.

I have PS and haven't used PSE in a long time so someone else may want to chime in here if exact step by step is needed.

Cheryl is correct. As I said at the beginning, first you need to decide how big your sign is going to be.

You then create a document that size at 300 dpi. (Although 150 dpi will likely be good enough for most posters.)

Save the file as a PDF and take it to Costco on a thumb drive. Voila!
