Arrow keys don't work with sound in clip editor

Arrow keys don't work with sound in clip editor

Postby mikecox » Tue Jun 03, 2014 1:44 pm

I was trying to edit an audio clip in the clip editor. I can position the CTI but the arrow keys don't work, so it's hard to find tune the edit.

They work just find on a video clip so I'm guessing scrubbing an audio clip isn't an available option.

I don't have PrE12, so I can't test. But, I would expect the arrow keys to work. Make sure that the clip editor window is the active window (it should have a high lighted line around it.)

You can zoom into the audio waveform pretty far. If you can't get the keys to work, you can zoom in and place the cti very accurately.

Also, make sure that your timeline panel is actually selected in the program's interface.

I can confirm that indeed you can move down or up the timeline in small increments using the arrow keys -- even if you ONLY have audio on your timeline.

Huh! I just went back and opened an audio clip in the clip editor and it worked :conf: I don't know why it wasn't working the last time I tried it.

btw clarify "timeline panel"? I'm thinking that would be all audio/video clips, 1-n, at the bottom of the screen; right?

I was in the clip editor when I couldn't get the arrow keys to work, so I think I had clicked on the clip in the assets section.

I have a f/u on the blotchy image issue; but I'll go back to that question and add it there

Yes. The timeline panel would be the part of the interface that includes the audio and video timelines, Mike. ;)
