As I said, Mike, I did output as a MOV, a WMV and an MP4 and they all played fine for me. Are there are other output tests you think I should perform?

Also, have you tried playing your videos in VLC Player? It runs circles around Windows Media Player.

No, but it sounds like you created the output on you machine. I was wondering if you tried to play the output I created on mine? If not I don't think you can say it's a player issue, it could still be a PrE issue; something about the Output process? I've added them back to my Box; here's the link

Also, if the WMV output will not play on a WMP what's the point of the preset option :conf:

I will Google VLC Player and see if I can find it.

But if WMP will not play PrE output how would anyone be able to watch it?

I have just uninstalled PrE. I am in the process of re-installing it now. Then I will output that clip again. btw it's does play as an AVI file but very jittery!

I'm sorry, Mike. I just really don't know what to do for you.

Your project file works fine in my version of Premiere Elements. I can output WMVs, MOVs and AVCHD files from it that play exactly as your timeline. But the outputs you've provided do not show your transition/wipe.

I really don't know what's going on at your end or what remedy to recommend.

After I uninstalled PrE today I called my IT service and had them run the usual virus/malware removal programs. That took an hour. When they were done I re-installed PrE, opened it, loaded the clip, and output it again; with the same results :ha:

It behaves the same way on my WIN8 machine; which r/o the player issue because WIN8 uses "xbox video" to play the clip.

But to be sure I dl'd VLC and tried it on that player; same results :pull:

When it runs there is a white line that tracks, in step with the wipe, up the left side of the image; but there is no red line.

I will now go back to PD12 and see if I can figure out how to set the trick up in that editor.

I appreciate your effort in solving the mystery; I know you did everything you could! ](*,)

Sorry, Mike. It kills me to leave a mystery unsolved.

And, again, since you're a longtime subscriber and supporter of the site, I'm still willing to Skype in live with you some time and look at what's going on on your machine to see if there's something obvious we're missing.

:YY: That would be greate... Can you log onto a machine with Skype?

I would really like to know why this trick isn't working. If something as basic as this simple trick is going south what else is waiting in the wings.

This could just force me into PD12; which wouldn't be a bad thing,I've wanted to explore that editor since I installed it, but, based on my initial experience with it I'm not so sure I would want to switch. Of course that could change the more I worked with it, but PrE feels more refined somehow.
