copy and paste a sliced clip from within projectTrying to slice a clip, copy and paste copy of split section in new location, or project assets. Can copy but cannot paste anywhere. Drop down does not seem to have Paste as an option. Using Imac with PE12.
Re: copy and paste a sliced clip from within projectAre you sure you're selecting and copying a clip?
And have you moved the playhead (CTI) to a point where there is no video on Video 1? HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: copy and paste a sliced clip from within projectHighlighted the centre clip of one clip split into three. Clicked "copy" then moved CTI to blank area on timeline. Cannot find location of Paste option, or as with Title "duplicate"
Me again possibly not seing what is obvious. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
Re: copy and paste a sliced clip from within projectThere's a Paste option under the Edit menu -- or you can just use the Cmd+v keyboard shortcut.

Re: copy and paste a sliced clip from within projectThanks again for guidance. Using Command+v worked immediately. Just for information I looked again for a Paste option. I had right clicked to copy clip, which I wanted to paste, but no Paste option on the right click menu. I have now found it under top task bar Edit menu, so all is well.
To expand a little on copying. I would like to use the sound from a clip as an introduction for the opening titles created. (Titles created without sound) Can I copy the sound track only from a clip to allow this audio to be pasted on an audio timeline with the opening title clips? Regards Robert
Re: copy and paste a sliced clip from within projectYes, of course you can.
Place the video clip on the timeline. Alt-click on the clip's audio track. That should select just the audio. You could do a copy and paste of the audio track now if you wish. But, keep in mind that the copy will paste into track 1 at the location of the CTI -- possibly overwriting something. A better approach is once the audio track is selected, double click it. That will bring up just the audio in the preview monitor. You can then drag the clip from the preview monitor and drop it onto the specific audio track and location where you want to place it. This creates a separate copy of the audio clip on the timeline which you can then trim independently of the original clip.
Re: copy and paste a sliced clip from within projectThank you Bob,
