By Date/Time Sort: Project Asset Import

Specific to Premiere Elements Version 12.

By Date/Time Sort: Project Asset Import

Postby Di Hansen » Tue Dec 17, 2013 4:49 pm

Is there a way to import Project Assets (video files, in this case) into the PRE interface so they stay in Date/Time order, instead of listing by name?

My files are sorted by date and time on my hard drive folder. Upon importing them into a project, they are listed by name order. I can rename them within the folder, but I'd rather not do that (with 100+ files) if there is a better & more efficient method of import.

Is there a button on the PRE12 interface I can click to reorganize/re-list the files? ::C

Thanks!

Strangely, this is a feature that was removed in recent versions of the program.

Bummer! I see you can sort by name, but that is not very helpful most of the time!

Thanks for your response!

One program worth looking into is DV Date.
http://paul.glagla.free.fr/dvdate_en.htm

It's a free download that will rename your files based on their timecode or date, which will allow you to sort by date by sorting by name.

will that help?
