Problem Gap in Video will not Close

Postby MP#$864zz » Sat Oct 22, 2016 10:16 am

Hi

I am not sure what happened.

I removed part of a Video.

It Left a gap that will not close.

When I click on the space the " Delete and Close Gap" is Greyed out.

When Video plays all that shows is a Black Screen.

How do I remove Gap ?

Thanks Fred

There could be audio in that gap or video on another track.
Can you post a screenshot of your entire timeline in the area of the gap?

Hi Peru

Thanks for your Reply.

I am not sure how to Post the Clip you ask for.

Do I Just do a Screenshot and then crop to that part of the time line ?

I was looking at the Gap in Quick View the Audio Track did not show up.

When I Switched to Expert Mode I could see the audio track Under the Area with the Gap.

Then I just need to delete the audio under the Gap in Expert Mode and the Gap will Close ?

Thanks for your Help Fred

If you are using a PC, you can do a screen shot just by pressing the Print Scrn key on your keyboard. Then, in a program like Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, select the option to create a New document from Image on Clipboard -- or just paste it into an existing image file. Save it as a JPEG and then, using the Full Editor on this forum rather than Quick Reply, select the option to Attach File.

Peru Bob is right. When we can see your timeline, it will tell us a lot about what is going on with your project.

Yes, if that is all that is preventing you from doing it. Try it.

You can also just move it out of the way and onto another track if necessary. If there is anything above or below the gap the "Delete and Close Gap" option is disabled. You can also close the gap manually by dragging all of the clips on that track to the left and closing the gap that way. I am pretty sure we have a tutorial on this somewhere ...

You can't close that gap automatically with the audio below it. Either move the audio out of the way or delete it. Unless you need that audio and you are trying to do something other than just close the gap.
