Using different cameras in same project

Postby thhult » Wed Feb 04, 2015 7:15 am

Hi,
I plan to play HD video clips taken with two different cameras:
1. Canon HV40
2. Sony Xperia Z3

Z3 has video resolution Full HD (30fps) 1920 × 1080 (16: 9) and 60fps

Will there be problem if I choose 60 fps on Z3 and mix clips imported from the HV40?
What is the best setting?

Regards
Thomas

In version 11, you should be able to mix those two sources, Thomas.

Just make sure that you use the Canon as the first clip on your timeline so that the program can set up your project based on its specs.

You will also need to do some color balancing as Sony tends to skew their red color a bit.

Well, the Sony is a smartphone in this case, Sidd -- but your point is well taken.

I mix the video from my Canon HV40 and my Samsung Note 2 in nearly every project now. But there is less and less of the HV40 footage every time.

As long as you're working with a framerate in your clip that the project framerate can divide into evenly, you're good.

You can always use the differences in the video quality as an effect using different angles.
