Good news at this end, Cliff! Using the workflow I described, I got a DVD that plays BluRay video!

1. Publish & Share from Premiere Elements using Computer/AVCHD with the M2T 1920x1080 30 preset.
2. Start a DVD Arch Studio project with Disc Format BluRay, Project Video Format AVC 1920x1080 60i. Add your video from Premiere Elements.
3. Make BluRay; select Prepare to make an ISO (ignore yellow notification).
4. Use ImgBurn to burn ISO to disc.

that is exactly verbatim what I did, including burning with imgburn.

In my house, I cannot ignore the yellow caution. It says that a overall bitrate larger than 28 Mbps will not work. The files coming out of pre11 are all 30.9, and I can't find any way to change that.

Well, I can't believe it but my disk plays on my other blu-ray player. I have 2. My second player is a little newer but I don't use it as often. And all of my other projects play on either one. Just this latest trouble maker for some reason won't play on my main player.

So at least, I know that I can play them on one of my players using dvd-arcitect.

Thanks for your help. I think I will rest on this for now.

I am still interested in authoring software though. What are some other good ones besides DVD architect?

Depends on how deeply you want to author and how much you want to spend.

I think DVD Architect Studio gives you the best bang for the buck. Professional apps include Encore and DVD Architect Pro (neither of which will be developed any further, since the prevailing belief is that professional discs are on the way out).

I'll leave this topic open to other recommendations. They do range from the very simple to the very complex, so you'll have to let us know what level of menu authorship you're interested in.

If you need simpler than DVD Architect Studio, have a look at these:

(Did you know Windows has a DVD maker built right into it?)

What I want is something that will do what DVD architect does without the quirks. I want to be able to pick up where pre11 leaves off so that I can burn an AVCHD disk to a folder without errors.

I settled on Nero 2015 platinum. It is a little more expensive than DVDarchitect but the results are much better. It burns to a folder of my choice and then I can burn those files to a disk with imgburn or with nero itself. I can use RW DVDs and also write once DVDs and either kind work well with both of my blu-ray players. The results are the same as I was getting with Adobe PE before it stopped working.

I want to thank all forum members and especially Steve Grisetti for all the help. I know it took a lot of your time. Thanks again.
