way to do variable time stretch?

Postby angelah100 » Thu Apr 17, 2014 9:51 am

I'm editing my daughter's basketball game and wanted to keep the speed normal, then slow it down while she makes the basket, then speed it back up after as the ball goes into the basket. I can do that by cutting the clip into little clips and changing the time stretch for each little clip but it's not very smooth (unless I cut the clip into really small clips but it still seems a little jerky). Is there any way to make the time stretch change over time? Or are we stuck with a straight percentage over the entire clip?

If you use the Time Remapping tool to set up your time remapping regions, you can also select the options to Ease In and Ease Out so that the shift into and out of slow motion is more of a transition rather than an abrupt change.

I am afraid that I do not use or have PrEl so I don't know how relevant/helpful or irrelevant/unhelpful this PPro CS6 tutorial might be:-

We have a tutorial on Time Remapping for our subscribers. You should be able to find it by searching "Time Remapping", as on this search page.

Steve, time mapping is perfect! I guess I need to read your PE11 guide book. I have your PE10 guide next to my workstation and couldn't find the answer but this was a feature added in PE11.

As always, thanks. It's so nice to know I can get on here and get help in a jiffy!
