Using a different camera and my playback is jerky?

Postby Doug Valdez » Fri Apr 11, 2014 1:24 pm

Greetings,
I have been using PRE 11 for quite a while with great results, I shot some video with a different camera, a Samsung still camera with HD video and am trying to edit the project. My videos when played in the timeline are very jerky. The Samsung shows MP4(V) in the timeline for format. My other camera is a Canon 5D mark III. Suggestions?

When you add your new video to your timeline in Expert view, do you see a yellow orange line along the top of the timeline, above your clips?

What are your Project Settings, as listed under the Edit menu? Do they match your video specs precisely?

What processor do you have and how much RAM?

Hi Steve,

Thanks so much for getting back to me!

Are you talking about the line where the video renders?

I checked the project settings;
Genreral=HD 1080i, 29.97 frame rate

Video 1920 - 1080, 30 fps drop-frame timecode

Yes. Do you see a yellow orange line along the top of the timeline in Expert view when you add video from your camera to the timeline?

Also, please post your computer hardware specs.
