Adding text and music in 11

Adding text and music in 11I would like to know if it is possible to add text from Word directly into my video which I am editing on 11. I need to include several pages of text at various places. Also can you add music so that it will play in the background of the video? When I try by dragging and dropping into the timeline it shuts off the video until the music clip finishes playing. If this is possible I would appreciate detailed (user friendly) step by step to do these two things.
Re: Adding text and music in 11Yes. You can paste text from word into a title in the Title Adjustments workspace.
And, yes, you can include music under your video. In Expert View, have you ensured that your music track is directly under your video clips? It sounds as though you may have "inserted" the music -- which means that it pushed your video aside when you added it to your timeline. If you can include a screen capture of your timeline, saved as a JPG, in your next post, we can see exactly what is going on. Re: Adding text and music in 11I highly recommend the Basic Training Tutorials Steve, sounds like you need to get some of the basics down and these will really help
http://muvipix.com/products.php?searchp ... =0&btn.y=0 Than you should move on to either the intermediate series, get Steve Grisetti's book on Premiere Elements 11 or both We have lots of tutorials available to help, many of them are free. 1. Re: Adding text and music in 11I was able to solve my music problem by getting it on the right track. That was very helpful. I have also reviewed the videos and have the book for reference. My only hangup now is getting the Word documents to paste into the text media screen. I am sure I am leaving something out but still not clear on how to do it. Thanks
Re: Adding text and music in 11Hi Steve,
Do you have the Titler open, with the text box selected? I have found that when I right click in the text box and select "paste" I then have to press the space bar to see the text. It is usually larger than the screen so the text size needs to be reduced. Let us know step by step what you are doing and what is not working for you. 1. Re: Adding text and music in 11I first went to Word and copied the text. I then went to 11 to my project and click text, then default text. The window opens with the add text box. I right click and hit paste. Nothing. When I hit the space bar nothing. I feel like I am so close but--------.
Re: Adding text and music in 11Highlight/Select the existing text and then right click and Paste, just to be sure you are actually in the box and it is active.
You need to be sure that you are pasting into the little text box and not just anywhere in the black title box. 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

Re: Adding text and music in 11I am trying to add video media to my project. I get an error message that the file is not supported or the required codec is not installed. These are labeled m2ts.modd. The strange thing is that it will load some of the same type but not all. Appreciate any help.
Re: Adding text and music in 11What model of camcorder is your video coming from?
Did you use Premiere Elements' Add Media tools to get the video from the camcorder to your computer over a USB connection? If you use Premiere Elements to add your media, you won't get that strange double suffix. (The file is either an .mod or a .m2ts -- but not both.) BTW, have you worked through our free 8 part Basic Training tutorials for Premiere Elements 11? They may clear up a lot of these basic questions. http://muvipix.com/products.php?searchp ... &btn.y=-78 HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
