How to utilize an external hard drive with the organizer

Postby mercurycoach » Sat Jul 06, 2013 12:31 pm

I finally got around to hooking up an external hard drive to store my videos.

What I'm unsure about is how to go about this with trying to use the Organizer as well. Can I specify a path to the external drive when I insert my SD card and download through the organizer?

Thanks for any help, I'm too old for the rapidly changing times in this digital age.

You should be able to, if you assign a letter to your external drive. (I'm assuming you're on a PC.)

To do this, click Start, then right-click on Computer and select Manage. Then, on the Computer Management screen, seelct Disk Management. Locate your external drive, right-click and select the option to Change Drive Letter.

Once you've done that, Windows should see it as a permanent part of your system. And you should be able to add it to your Watched Folders in the Organizer.
