add a certain transition to all segments in pre11

Is there a way to add a cross dissolve transition to all segments on the timeline in one step?

Certainly! Just select all of your timeline, right-click and select Apply Default Transition.

The cross-dissolve is the Default Transition by default. But you can right-click on any transition and make it your default.

Heads up, the "Apply Default Transition" command will not work on a video clip followed by a still image unless the video clip is trimmed on the end. By contrast, the command works on a still image followed by a video clip that isn't trimmed.
