Elements 11 and Computer CompatibilityI have Photo Elements and Premiere 10 bundle and want to purchase the new 11 version (along with Steve's books!). Is there any new computer requirements with 11 that I need to check to be sure my 4-5 year old computer can handle the new software?
Re: Elements 11 and Computer CompatibilityThe easiest way to find out if your computer can handle version 11 is to download the free trial and see how it runs on your computer.
A) i7-3930K 3.2GHz (3.8GHz Turbo), 32GB DDR3-1600, SSD 256GB, 2x1TB+2x2TB Seagate Barracuda (72krpm), Geforce GTX 550 Ti (1GB), Win10 Pro 64-bit
B) Sony Vaio i7-3632QM,12gb DDR3-1333MHz, GeForce® GT 640M LE (2GB), 750GB (7200rpm), Win10 Pro64-bit
Re: Elements 11 and Computer CompatibilityI agree with Gerlinde. There's nothing like a test drive!
But remember, the real issue isn't just if the program will run -- it's if it will edit your video. The system requirements for editing miniDV footage, for instance, are very different from those for editing AVCHD or cell phone video. A 2006-era computer may be a bit underpowered for AVCHD -- but maybe not. What model of camcorder is your footage coming from? And how fast is your processor, how much RAM do you have and what operating system are you running? HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: Elements 11 and Computer CompatibilityI ran 10 and 11 on 2 different computers and 11 ran much more efficiently on both. If you are running version 10 without problems I would think that you could run 11 just fine. But as it has been said already, giving the trial a test drive is the best way to know without spending any $$

Re: Elements 11 and Computer CompatibilityI have a lenovo y580 pc..runs win 7 64bits. If I download trial version of Elements 11 and it works satisfactorily, what steps must I take before I purchase it. I am assuming that I would purchase the disk version. Is that the best way to go?
Re: Elements 11 and Computer CompatibilityIt doesn't matter if your purchase the disc version of download it from Adobe. It's the same program.
However, you may find that you can copies of the program Amazon.com for much cheaper than the price you'll pay directly to Adobe. It's worth checking out anyway. HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: Elements 11 and Computer CompatibilityThanks for answering my question....I have one last followup question...if I do download Elements 11 and find that I want to purchase it, how do I delete it from my conputer so that I can buy the disk version at a hopefully cheaper price? This is an important question to me because I am seriously already considering buying this software and want to be certain that it will work on my pc. What I mean is, I want to be sure that if I download a trial version I can delete it completely so that I can run it from a disk version and not mess up my computer. Please answer as completely as possible because I am not a computer genius
Re: Elements 11 and Computer CompatibilityYou can simply uninstall the program and then run a utility like CCleaner if you want to be sure to remove any remnants. Personally, you really only need to activate the trial and everything will work just fine. But if you feel better uninstalling the trial then that's ok too
