Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10 ArrivedSony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10 has arrived:

Re: Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10 ArrivedI will probably upgrade. I have already bumped into the 4 video track limitation and 10 video and audio tracks will be plenty. They added the secondary color correction which was exclusive with the Pro version. You can now burn auto-play SD DVDs from the timeline as well as HD disks. And the best reason to upgrade?
It includes DVD Architect Studio version 5.0 which provides authoring of Blu-ray/AVCHD and standard DVDs. -=Ken Jarstad=-

Re: Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10 ArrivedStarting with this version, there is now a stabilizer, and it has rolling shutter correction. It worked beautifully with the first clip I tried, although I didn't need to use rolling shutter correction on it. It would be interesting if someone with high-def video could try it and report.
I would upgrade to 10 even if I bought 9 yesterday.
Re: Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10 ArrivedWow, it's actually unbundled! I missed that.
And, isn't that cheaper than the Ulead/Corel product? -=Ken Jarstad=-

Re: Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10 ArrivedKen, you should be able to upgrade to the Platinum 10 Production Suite for $49.95 (box) or $44.95 (download).
Re: Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10 ArrivedRobert, I got no email from Sony Creative regarding upgrade - nothing in my spam filter either. All I get when logged in to the site is a standard upgrade of $64.95 for the download. But, even worse, checking my registered products and the available upgrades I entered serial numbers for two of four upgradable products and the web page returns an error message saying those serial numbers do not qualify! I complained to customer service - haven't heard back yet.

Re: Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10 Arrived
I finally just called Sony Creative. I expected to wait on hold for thirty minutes and talk to someone I could hardly understand. I got a pleasant and understandable woman on the line right away. She verified my name and software registration and took my credit card info straight-away. My v9 purchase was March 31st so I didn't qualify for a free upgrade but I did get the 10 Platinum (not the Suite) for $39.95 and $9.95 shipping. -=Ken Jarstad=-

Re: Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10 ArrivedKen, glad you got the low price. I have the boxed production suite coming for $49.95 + 9.95 shipping.
Re: Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10 ArrivedIt certainly has some nice features,,, especially now with the 10 tracks. Infact there has been a lot of discussion of it over on the Vegas Pro forum. I just hope they transfer some of the features into the new Pro version... especially Cuda support for fast AVCHD rendering.
Re: Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10 ArrivedPaul, I read that the latest release to the Pro version, 9e, has GPU acceleration for AVCHD rendering - only. There was also a report that the Main Concept AVC encoder is more configurable and does a better job, making it more attractive. Like many people I was hoping for preview acceleration but that is not here yet.
The increase in tracks, the addition of secondary color controls and of course the upgrade of DVDAS to 5.0 with Blu-ray support makes the Pro version less of a draw to us amateurs. -=Ken Jarstad=-

Re: Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10 ArrivedUnfortunately there was no GPU support for AVCHD rendering in 9e, just some bug fixes. Can't really afford the graphic cards that support Cuda anyway Also, I think it would be more useful to use the GPU support for preview rather than rendering. I spend more time editing and previewing than rendering for export.
Yes, they have certainly narrowed the gap between the Studio version and the Pro version... the opposite of what Adobe are doing.
Re: Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10 ArrivedIt seems as though Sony's upgrade policy is currently very generous. I have upgraded to Vegas 10 studio from DVD Architect Studio 4.5 (that's the only package that I own.) If you do it before 30th June they are charging a pittance. (£20.99 + VAT to upgrade to Production suite and £15.99 + VAT to upgrade to platinum).

Re: Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10 ArrivedI wonder if I can upgrade from Vegas Pro 9?
Re: Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10 Arrived
Her is what it states on the web site: Upgrade to Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10
I have no need for another NLE, however what a deal! I currently only have DVD Architct Studio 4.5. I got an e-mail to upgrade for $34.95 forthe platinum download, or $45.95 for the production suite. If I were to just but DVD Architect Studio 5 it would cost me $39.95. I have until June 30 to purchase. The decision is a no-brainer. Neither Adobe nor Magix has ever offered an upgrade deal like this.
