Serious Magic Ultra 2

Postby AVITRY » Tue Jul 28, 2009 9:15 am

Hi all. I have the full boxed copy of Serious Magic Ultra 2 along with 2 additional virtual set CDs. I purchased it new. It's a very expensive program that does finely detailed greenscreen video work with a very easy to use interface. I believe I paid nearly 500 for it.

I wanted to post it's availability here in the community before listing it on ebay. I'm thinking of posting it for $250 but if anyone here is interested, let me know. By first request will be the way I'll sell it, and I'll offer it here for $200.

Thanks for the link Joe. I have read a lot about Ultra and it is by far the best chromakey software ever.
If anyone does chromakey work this software can be a lifesaver as well as a huge timesaver. And the results are amazing !!

The narrator of the ultra demo now works for Adobe and has a band called Johnny Encore and the Acrobats. They do funny stuff related to Adobe products.

Great product.

Serious Magic was purchased by Adobe back in 2006. Adobe integrated Serious Magic's DVRack HD program into Production Premium CS3 and CS4 as OnLocation. Ultra2 was sold separately by Adobe for a while as Adobe Ultra (which is now absent from the product lineup) and was included in Production Premium CS3. It is not present in Production Premium CS4 and appears to be no longer offered.

You might want to view this short video which talks about what happened to Ultra: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/ask-the-adobe-ones/24-future-of-ultra-and-more/. According to that, the vector keying technology in Ultra was integrated into Premiere Elements 7 (video merge is using it).

We might see the technology in Ultra integrated into the Production Premium CS5 suite, but not as a stand alone program.
