Software recommendation?

Have to 2nd that! I have all three pc's right next to each other on the same desk top. A router, KVM switch with a single monitor, scanner and key board complete the setup. All that's needed more than a regular setup is about 18 inches of additional space to include the other two towers. Oh! and my spkrs.

Are you saying you have the same keyboard, mouse, monitor for the 2 computers? Is there a diagram somewhere how that is set up, I have a hard time picturing it -- unless it's like an external hard drive.

Yes, a fairly common item in large server installations - called a KVM switch. The one I have supports only two PCs and has all the cables built-in. You can get others that support more PCs, but you usually have to get extra cables.

I have the Belkin Flip. They have a few different varieties, depending on whether you have a PS/2 mouse, or USB, VGA or DVI video, etc. Go to (for example) http://www.buy.com and search for Belkin Flip. In effect it's like a smart Y cable.

I echo George - went from a PC with Premiere Elements to a new iMac just last month - and I'll never go back! But, I also invested in an ADVC300 for capturing analog - and I have Final Cut Express so more of an investment than just a new computer!

You may never go back but I'm sure you will discover things that will drive you just as crazy as the PC did

Probably. I will admit that there are couple of Mac "quirks" that annoy me. Mostly though they come from Apple software taking away visibility of a lot of my files/options - and me having to dig through "package contents" to do anything!

After numerous attempts, some successful and some not, with PE7 and other more affordable editors, I decided to take the plunge and go for something that I hoped would produce more consistent results. I have found just that and am very happy with Sony Vegas. I ordered a book from Amazon.com to help with the learning aspect since the PDF manual that comes with the software is lacking but by the time the book arrived I had mastered many of the functions. I'm no genius when it comes to this stuff but I found Vegas very easy to use. I also purchased Sony DVD Architect to burn my movies to disk and once again was very pleased with the ease of use and the end results.

There are plenty of Vegas users here if you have any questions, and even more folks that use DVD Architect

Bruce, I started with PE but now use Vegas almost exclusively ... I, too, think it rocks and it works seamlessly with DVD Architect. Love em both.
