I'm getting a lot of entertainment value out of my copy. The price is now higher than when I bought it. I'm anxious to see what Magix will do about the DV-AVI problem, which is not just isolated to NTSC but also PAL. I thought my camcorder was about to explode when recording back to my camcorder over firewire. That was followed by a message from MEP that the DV frame was truncated or corrupted. That's the same message that I got from VirtualDub when I tried to play back a DV-AVI exported from MEP 14+.
It's hard to say what is wrong the the MOV file, as there are over 70 different formats for it. The MOV files that come out of my Kodak digital camera play back just great, taking into account that the frame rate is only 11 fps. I can't use the MOV files in Premiere Elements, I have to convert them to something else.

I just discovered that with DV-AVI video, the Echo effect (the one in MEP, not PreElm), and a pair of 3D glasses that you can have amazing 3D video in MEP 14+. As long as there is some kind of movement in the video, you have 3D video. For best results you have to make sure that you don't deinterlace and that the monitor resolution matches the video resolution. If you mix down make sure that you use the bottom field first option instead of progressive option or whatever field order is the correct one.
I've only tried DV-AVI video, but other types should work.

I don't know how much iClone would cost by itself, but MEP 14+ is going for $69.99 right now for the US version. The version of iClone that comes with MEP 14+ has a small number of characters and actions. Lots of extras you can buy. It is fun to map your face and other peoples faces onto the characters and see them in 3D. iClone isn't integrated with MEP 14+. You import the video into MEP 14+.

With the plus version you usually get more tracks (99 I think as compared to 32 for non-plus) and better keyframing ability. I wouldn't buy the online version though, it usually lacks things available on the disk.
I use v12 on my laptop and really like the program. I wind up using it a lot for short web videos.

Once you have installed the download version, you will be downloading quite a bit more in extras. You get everything that's in the boxed version except for some insignificant (IMO) item. You have to look under the Help menu in order to access all the extra downloads. So you will need a high speed internet connection.
The Dolby Digital 5.1 plug-in and the MP3 plug-in are additional costs.

The iclone2 version is the SE version... you can download some bonus stuff but there are not that many scenes, avatars etc in it. I assume you get a lot more with the full version. I have only played around with it a few times nothing serious as I have had no need to use it.

Same as Robert I am afraid... I have never edited wmv as it is a highly compressed format and can give such issues. If needed I would convert it to another format such as DV-AVI.
