I don't know if they are having a sale now in Australia, but I just picked up the full version, not upgrade, of Pinnacle Studio 16 Ultimate for US $77. That's cheaper than the upgrade. I had to "buy" it to see the 40% discount on the order form. The coupon code, PIN40Off, didn't drop the price any lower.

Thanks RJ for the tip will check it out. Unfortunately I have not had a lot of time
to spend checking out Pinnacle the last week or so as there is going to be piece written
about my hubby's Dad, I have been busy getting a lot of old pics organised for it. I have
nearly finished so will be able to get back on to it. Your price was great, but I would be surprised
about Australia unfortunately they are not over cheap on anything. BG

This may not mean a thing. I downloaded the trial version. My downloader told me it was unstable and crashed a minimum of 1 time per week. I opened it to play with and it immediately froze, so I uninstalled. Vegas has been stable, no crashes and performs well. There are some things about it I don't care for, but it does a decent job. I may not have given it a fair shot though.

Thanks for that..will give it another shot when time permits. Appearances show it to be a pretty good app.

I had trouble downloading the Standard Content Pack. The solution for me was to turn off the Pando Network service in the Control Panel. I also deleted the folder they mentioned in the FAQ.

I've had a different experience than BuddyB as far as crashes go. Pinnacle 16 is probably the best running video editor I have installed on Windows 8. Hardly any crashes. But when it comes to Vegas (pro 12), that crashes all the time, although I've found that 3rd party plugins and extensions are usually the cause.
