Background video of concert hall

Postby ryan_khoo » Tue Nov 15, 2011 10:49 am

Hi there,

I am attempting to do a greenscreen effect.

I have recorded a group of singers singing against a green background. My intention is to key it & place a video clip/loop of a concert hall.

The idea is to make them look as if they are singing in a concert hall with the audience clapping as if they are superstars. Hahaha.

Question is where to I get/buy this video clip/loop ?

Thanks

Tell us more about how you plan to compose your image, Ryan. Will the singers look like they're on stage with the audience in the foreground? Or are you shooting them from behind, with audience in the background?

It may be easiest to just get video or even a still of a big rock stage and use that for the background of them singing. Then you can just cut occasionally to stock shots of audience cheering -- like these.

I have shoot/record them from the front and 2 sides. Majority of the shots will be them zoomed in (meaning the singers look will big in the video). So, I need to place them against something to make them as if they are in the concert

Ok but where do I get these background ?

Ok good tips, Steve. But first where do I get the video or even a still of a big rock stage that you mentioned above so that I can use that for the background ?

Thanks

Any number of stock photo sites should have them. Just do a search on the word "stage" on a site like:

Thanks Steve,

I just realised I have also taken some video of the singers from the back.

In this case, to make it looks real, I can superimpose this with a video of the audience/crowd clapping as background. To do this, the audience face must be facing us. But the videos from Pond5 the audience's back in facing us instead !

And the video/clip of the audience must not be panning from left to right or vice-versa bcos my singers are not moving ...

Thanks

Do some Google searches, Ryan. There are lots of stock footage sites out there. It's just a matter of sifting through them -- and finding the footage at a reasonable price.

Thanks Steve,

I have been searching high & low but cannot find out that is 100% suitable.

I have found this:

http://vfxbuzz.com/?p=108

http://vfxbuzz.com/?p=108

But I do not have the Trapcode Lux plugins in my After Effects. So the part where the spotlight shines & moves wont work for me. So I need to find a workaround for the lights beaming effects.

Can I ask, if I superimpose an alpha channel light/beam into the singer, the light will block the singer, right ? Does reducing the opacity of the light/beam do the trick ?

Thanks

Try using the Lighting Effects effects for creating moving spotlight effects.

You'll also find Lighting Effects in Premiere Elements in the Adjust effects. Or by just typing Lighting Effects in the search box in the Effects panel.
