Media player and Netflix streaming in one box?

Postby Ron Hunter » Wed Feb 09, 2011 3:56 pm

I recently read the lengthy Muxipix thread about the Patriot Box Office media player. I'd like to buy one but if there is a box somewhere that combines media playing with Netflix streaming, I would rather have that.

I see that the Netflix-playing Roku XD|S player has a USB port and can take in video/audio files, but M2T isn't a supported format and my HD movies are in M2T format.

Any ideas?

Some Blu-ray players have Netflix and play other media types. You can connect an external USB hard drive (FAT32) loaded with various media types and play through the Blu-ray player. The media types you can play are going to be limited compared to what you can play on the Patriot Box. You would have to download the user manuals from the manufacturers' web sites to find out what media types they can play.
