Have Title block

Postby momoffduty » Wed May 14, 2008 2:40 pm

Having title block for a graduation video project. Just finished the last band concert/award night video and used the music note background, red satin background with the concert pamphlet opening up. Want to use something different for the graduation project. Maybe the school logo with something? Don't want to use the same opening as the concert.

Isn't there a graduation theme in the products section? Looked and didn't see one. For the ending will use a quote from Thoreau. May use Muvipix music The Final Triumph, NY Nights, or Happy New World.

Any ideas for an opening and closing titles? This will be gifts for daughter and her friends, so want it to be special.

I've always wanted to do a graduation video and start with a graphics of the caps being thrown in the air.
The graphic follows the caps up in the air and focuses/centers on one particular cap. That cap is thrown the highest and as the graphic zooms in on that cap it turns into a video screen. Something like that anyway, maybe it will give you an idea :)

Cool idea Chuck! Thanks. I do have video at the end with the caps going in the air. Guess I could freeze frame, take to PS and cut out a few. May use that at the end and have a few caps with the Thoreau quote. I'll give that a shot and also try it for the intro for the start of the video.

Thanks for the idea. Anyone else?

Posted a working copy of the opening title. I like to put a title before the title in the beginning...gives my husband a chance to adjust the speakers and seems no one at our house can get settled in to watch the movie until a few min. after it starts.

Suggestions welcome :)

Very nice Cheryl, it has a real motion picture/epic type feel :)
It would be great if you could get some form of depth to the caps in the air, make them look more 3D instead of just squares.
The tassels add a lot to them but still they seem to need something.

Maybe a drop shadow? The hats are pics of hats, maybe I could paint some highlight on the hats in photoshop...not real sure how to do this.

With the music you have in the background, I might make the caps fly up just a bit slower, to match the drama of the music. You've got a great start there, though. I really like the timing of that first drop of water falling back down.

Agree that the first caps need to slow it down a bit. The music is The Final Triumph in the products section.

It is under the Products/Motion Backgrounds/Hi Def category

About in the middle to the bottom of the page, the clip name is;

Cheryl, I googled 'mortar board' and found this

http://www.homeschooldiploma.com/apparel/cap.only.jpg

there may be other images that you can manipulate/modify in PS then animate in PE as in your intro sample. That could be an easy way to merge in some 3D style hats. :?:

Thanks John for the mortar board image, will save that for a future project. This one has already been burned. I reworked the hats in photoshop and the whole hat sequence, added some curved paths (bezier?). The hat sequence is now at the end of the video with a message. The intro is now only the water drop motion background.....the background is such good quality that it deserved to stand alone.

I'll post the ending when I get a chance...looks less cheezy :)
