Just in case you notice a lack of postings from me it will be because I'll be in this part of the world for the next three weeks, :-D  :-D but I will try to look in now and then.

Great! I assume that was Google Earth? It didn't look as if you'd done what I normally do - I just film the screen and adjust the speed in post processing as required! My attempts don't come out anywhere near as well as that. Did you use some sort of screen capturing software, maybe...?

Thanks all for the comments on the video - just a bit of fun that I experimented with but I will be tidying it up for use as the intro to the 'holiday video' that I'll be working on whan I get back.

Brian, like you I used to set up the camera in front of the screen and just record what was there but then someone provided some constructive criticism about my technique and introduced me to this (hope the link works)

and I have been using it ever since.

It sounds really useful and from what I've seen it works well too! :-) Thanks for the info.

That was a really fun video (and yet very informative). I'd get a new drive, however. That one looked a little erratic :evil3:

Agree about getting a new driver - that one doesn't seem too sure about where he is going. :-D

Well I said I would look in now and then.

Fortunately for us the (real) driver did know the way to the ship. Four days later and we have now visited Grand Cayman, Aruba and today (Wednesday ) we are in Bonaire where it is a warm ( :-D ) 80 or so  .

On Saturday we have a long stop (08.00 until 23.00) in Barbados. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good Bajan restaurant?

Hi John, glad to hear you are having a good time. Hope the weather is better than it is here, we had heavy snow fall down in Southampton this weekend... unheard of. Still the weather has picked up in the last couple of days.

Well, almost at the end of the cruise. Just sailing towards the Western Approaches with docking at Southampton due at 07.00 on Saturday 26th April. Then it is home, look at and score the video competition entries before the closing deadline, then start on the 2008 Caribbean Cruise video (and also try to finish the one from 2003

So, in short, I'm (very nearly) back!
