Well I did. I purchased it online tonight and will take the one I bought at the store back, once I get this one. My total came up to $138 w/tax and the one yesterday was $173 w/tax. I figure if I wait a bit longer they will be free!

You know what they say, if it seems too good to be true...

My order status says "discontinued item". I don't think the order is going to happen.

That's too bad Bob, sure was a great deal.
Maybe they will still honor the discount with another model, like the one you already own :)

Yeah, I just called them. The Customer Service reps says that they are still "sourcing" it. Apparently they don't have any in the Chicago area and are just looking elsewhere. She indicated I won't know for 7-10 business days. I think at that point we will be having another discussion along the lines you were thinking - a substitute. Unfortunetly they don't seem to stock WD at 750GB, from what I can see.

I heard somewhere that stores are trying to get rid of the Freeagent drives. Some Best Buy stores may have the Freeagent Pro 750 GB for 53.99 on clearence. My local Best Buy didn't have it on sale, but some other ones may have them on sale.

53.99? Now I'm a little suspect. I wonder if there is some issue with them.

The 750 is on sale at Best Buy but I find it at $170.

I do believe the Free Agent Pro 320 could be going for under $60 but not the 500 or 750.

The 320 is discontinued and on sale, check it out here

That is from last September however, still can't find anything on a recent sale that cheap.
