The Pollinators

Postby sidd finch » Tue Jun 27, 2023 11:29 am

I was out in the backyard watering and noticed a lot of bee activity on the leek plants that have started to go to seed. So I grabbed my iPhone and a macro lens to record the busy bees collecting pollen.

Update: If some macro shots are good, an increased magnification must be better  Added some additional shots with "extra macro" lol

Very nice! The plants themselves would have made good subject matter, but the bees were fascinating. Watching them go about their work is always a treat. The clarity couldn't get any better. :TU:

Thank you Dave. To me those plants looked like giant dandelions. I was surprised at how many bees there were there collecting pollen. I missed it but there was even a giant bumble bee gathering pollen too.

The clarity couldn't get any better.

That iPhone continues to amaze me in how well it captures video. I was using the Filmic legacy app to record the video and it does a nice job. The macro lenses are also easy to work with too.

Glad you enjoyed it.

That's beautiful Sidd. I love bees, but have only seen bumble bees around us this year :(

Ed I think with all the rain we have had this winter there is just more abundance including the bees. For me, it just fascinating to watch them gather pollen.

Thank you, Steve. Appreciated. I would like to find a whole field with an abundance of Bee's to record.
