Re: The Basics of Lighting for Film NoirWhat got me interested is after reading an article on cucoloris and how it is used in movies. A cucoloris is a device for casting shadows or silhouettes to produce patterned illumination. You may sometimes hear it referred to as a cookie or even a kook or a coo-koo.
I guess after watching movies I noticed the effect but never realized that it was used artificially to create an effect.
