Microphone

Postby Bubby Grub » Wed Feb 07, 2018 2:50 am

Hi All,
I am sure this is something so simple, but at this stage something is escaping me.
Recently most of my work has been in PS, PE took a side step for awhile.
Now I have had this working perfectly before. I have a CAD U37 Microphone - and
I do all my recordings through wave editor, or on a rare occasion Audacity, I do not
record within PE at all. Now if I try it the microphone is working and I can see signs
of the recording, but there is no sound upon playback. Nothing is muted. I have
just installed a new 500gb SSD drive, which ended up with some dramas but are
sorted out now. Could there be something so simple that I am missing right now.
I have never had any dramas before, so I am thinking it is probably something I have
missed, simple I am guessing, but right now I have come up with nothing. Any help
or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Bubby :conf:

The obvious candidates - wrong input selected in wave editor (line in rather than mic?); speakers not the default for sound output.

I agree with John.

Often, when you plug a USB microphone into your computer, it changes your input and output settings. Unplugging this microphone can sometimes change them again.

Assuming you're on Windows, click the Start button in the lower left of your desktop and type "Sound", then select the Sound/Control Panel option that appears. Make sure your speakers are selected as your Playback device.
