Intro doesn't play on VLC Player only

Postby Peru » Sun Oct 29, 2017 12:16 pm

I wasn't sure where to post this, so I'm asking here. :conf:

I burned a DVD with ImgBurn using the VIDEO_TS file created by DVDAS 4.5.
I had added an introduction in DVDAS and set it to play before the menu.

When I play it on a TV using a DVD player and when I play it on a computer with Windows Media Player, it plays properly.
When I play it on VLC Player, it goes directly to the menu instead of playing the introduction. When I choose the menu button for the introduction, it plays the introduction and returns to the menu.

I'm sure there must be some setting in VLC Player that I need to change to get it to play the introduction first as it does in Windows Media Player.

Anybody have any suggestions?

You probably need to disable this option:

start in dvd menu.png

How you are launching it with VLC Media Player?

Are you inserting the disc in your computer and letting it auto-launch -- or are you setting VLC to play a folder?

In VLC:

Tools > Preferences
Show Settings: Show All
Navigate the tree:
Input-Codecs -> Access Modules -> DVD with Menus
Uncheck "Start in Menu"

Hope that helps.
Rob

I now see that Chris posted.
