That's gorgeous! A few weeks ago when the northern lights were supposed to be visible at our latitude we made a special run about midnight out into the country to a secluded place that was as dark as it gets around here. Unfortunately, try as we might, we weren't able to detect even the smallest hint :( . I've seen them back in the 70s, but my wife had not. They are breathtaking. That was beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Speaking of northern lights, same author also filmed this one of the northern lights by drone.

I really enjoyed the videos and was wondering how he got those shots at night using a drone... well he listed his equipment and for almost 8k you too can get these gorgeous shots too.

Then it got me thinking why not save the money on the gear and use the trusty standard "day-for-night" effect. :hyst:

Matrice 600 = 5,000
Camera: Sony A7sii = 2,000
Lens: Sigma 20mm 1.4 = 900

I enjoyed the second one you posted Sidd. Yikes 8k?? The Sony A7 series is a nice camera. I would be tempted, but have invested in Canon. I do like my little Sony compacts though.

I think that no matter what camera setup you have there is always something just around the corner that is out of reach but makes you pine for it anyway.

I agree on your methodology. You have Canon so you stick with Canon. Makes perfect sense. I would think that is what the manufacturers are hoping for too.
