Light leaks as transitions

Postby karri » Fri Apr 28, 2017 3:36 pm

Hi All,

A bit of a style question using light leaks for transitions.

I like the way light leaks look as transitions, but I'm afraid of overdoing it. I've never really strayed away from cuts and cross dissolves, so it's new to me.

Anyone have experience creating slideshows with light leaks (or or other alternative types of transitions)?

I've looked for examples of well-done, slow-moving slideshows that I could glean some hints from, but I'm mostly just finding how-to's and downloads.

TIA :)

I think those kind of transitions are nice when used for an effect and sparingly. But overuse takes away from the presentation.

I agree sparingly works best on light leaks. Maybe use on a few special photos? That would add surprise and emphasis.

Thanks for your feedback Sidd and Cheryl. Sounds like you confirmed my fears

Chuck, this probably explains it best what I want to do, although I'm having a hard time finding a finished example, other than short, fast-moving promos. Mine will be a 3 minute still image slideshow with a few video clips.
