Amazon recommends staying signed in...

..on one's personal devices.

Hmmm. :conf:

So if you lose your cellular phone, and you've left your credit card info on Amazon's site, then you need to call your credit card company even before you call your cellular carrier.

Amazon logs me off quite often automatically, even when I'm browsing on the site.

I haven't experienced that.

Also scary is that my cellular phone keeps me logged on to all my email accounts. I'm not aware of any setting to require that I be asked for a password.

Are you?

George, do you really want the phone to require a password every time it checks for email? I would go nuts as I have mine set to check for email every 10 minutes.

The security for your phone starts with the Lock Screen. Make the lock as tight as you can and it will be very difficult for anyone to get into your phone. The security should be set on the front end, not the back end, for a device like this.

As far as Amazon goes, you are still required to enter a user and password when making purchases or checking your account, even if you stay logged in.
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.

Yes, I always lock my screens but was wondering whether that is enough security,

I did not know that. Thanks for sharing that valuable information.
