iMovie upgradeMy client has a 27" solid-state 2012 Mac computer and wants to run iMovie. He has a 2007 version that won't accept .MTS footage. I assume he needs a new version of iMovie. How can he get it? What will it cost?
Re: iMovie upgradeThere's a $15 iMovie app. Will it work as easily?
Re: iMovie upgrade$15 is a small price to pay.
There's also this "free" way to get the latest iMovie. It's not totally legit, but Apple doesn't seem to mind either. So it's sort of like sharing your Netflix password. At Muvipix, we never endorse stealing someone else's work, copyrighted material or software. But this one apparently falls into a gray area. (Unfortunately we also can't guarantee that this method works -- although it did for me.) http://maypalo.com/2013/10/25/how-to-do ... ked-links/ HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: iMovie upgradeThanks. The $15 is no problem. I forgot to ask whether being called "app" indicates that it is an online product that requires an internet connection to use it.

Re: iMovie upgradeWell, it probably does. But it has to be in the MOV format.
Try using iMovie to get the video from your camcorder. It will capture it in the MOV format, but it will still be an H.264 1920x1080 video. I just tried it. Plugged my AVCHD into the Mac's USB port, opened iMovie and imported the video. It's an MOV file, but it's still a 1920x1080 AVC file.
