Deleting Win10 "nagware"

Postby George Tyndall » Sat Jan 02, 2016 10:59 pm

I learned of the following web site from Bob. I always consult Woody's site before performing any Windows updates.

The below update to his site also has a link to a method for deleting Win10 "nagware" that may be hidden among the updates. "Nagware" = software that repeatedly urges us to upgrade to Win10. It plants a Windows 10 icon in the Taskbar without first advising us.

His site also provides detailed instructions re how to perform Windows updates, including not checking the boxes that arrive unchecked.

BTW, with regard to Win's browser, Internet Explorer (IE), Woody advises that we do not use it -- he recommends Firefox and Chrome.
