I recently discovered a new Lightroom feature called "Dashboard" that is pretty neat. You visit the appropriate webpage, drag/drop a copy of your LR catalog onto the webpage, and the app analyzes your catalog and tells you things like:
- how many photos you took for each month over the last 2 years (time frame is adjustable)
- what aperture values you have used, along with your "favorite"
- what focal lengths you have used, along with your "favorite"
- and lots of other details about the way you take photos
You can adjust the "window" of your photo history all the way out to 12 years!!
I was recently debating whether I should sell one of my zoom lenses and just buy a prime, so I used Dashboard to analyze my recent photo history. Turns out I used the "in-between" focal lengths more than I thought, so I think I will keep the zoom lens.
If your LR catalog is large (>2GB) you have to go about this in a different way using their "Large Catalog Converter Tool". It is easy to use and worked very well for me.
This is a really cool tool for LR users!
