I love this drivelapse video. The creator manages to apply focus only on a small part of the frame, almost as if the focus is vignetted. There also seems to be a tilt-shift effect going on.
Anyway, this is worth watching:

Cool drivelapse videoI love this drivelapse video. The creator manages to apply focus only on a small part of the frame, almost as if the focus is vignetted. There also seems to be a tilt-shift effect going on.

Re: Cool drivelapse videoHurry up and wait.
Hurry up and wait. Hurry up and wait. Maybe if those folks weren't driving on the wrong side of the street they'd have better traffic flow. Be yourself; everyone else is taken.

Re: Cool drivelapse videoToo right, Dave, about the stop/go traffic. It is horrendous. Planning any trip that involves a distance is a lottery in terms of time the journey will take.
[moan on] Our politicians are London based and all transport policy - road, rail, air travel - is definitely London centric. So London has a really quite good public transport infrastructure with local rail services, underground, buses, etc. It is the rest of the country that suffers and in the rural areas (that is anywhere more than a couple of miles from a town) it is either walk, cycle or use the car, there being scarce few other options. [/moan off] Some boring statistics. The UK has a population somewhere north of 60 million. There are 35 million registered vehicles on its roads. The UK is a small island with a land area is about 94,000 square miles. For comparison Oregon is the closest in land area at about 96,000 square miles. I do not know anything about Oregon but can you imagine what it would be like with 35 million vehicles on its roads? Re: Cool drivelapse videoVery cool video! I like how the tilt/shift effect makes it all look very toy-like.

Re: Cool drivelapse videoHere is feedback from the video creator on how they achieved the effect:
" Thanks Ron, It's tilt shift in post with Magic Bullet Looks, with a little vignette, which I initially did it to obscure the vehicle number plates, then rather liked the feel as it focused the eye forward, so it stayed. " I loved the tilt-shift and the focus vignetting, it really does pull your gaze forward. Now, how to do that in FCPX...
