Went crazy in Audacity, now I need help!

Talk about anything here.

Went crazy in Audacity, now I need help!

Postby Ron Hunter » Wed Aug 06, 2014 1:44 pm

I'm working on an introduction video for a new product at my company. The first video was good and I received feedback about possible improvements. During incorporation of the feedback I tried new audio sweetening techniques in Audacity and I thought they sounded great at the time. When I inserted the audio into the PRE9 timeline next to the previously recorded audio, I realize I have a problem!

When compared to the previous audio, the Audacity-created files sound like I'm talking in a well. I think the problem is the "noise removal" effect I applied in Audacity. Unfortunately, I have exported many portions of the Audacity timeline as separate MP3 files that I later imported into PRE9, so going back into Audacity doesn't sound like an easy fix.

Is there a simple audio effect or other fix I can use to get through this? Or do I just have to bite the bullet and re-do the Audacity project?

If you output new audio files each time you applied an effect, your original audio file should still be available.

Can you locate your original, un-effected audio and just put it back into your Premiere Elements project?

Never mind Steve. The main problem is that I used two different mics for the recording. Try as I might I can't get the audio to sound the same, even though the speaker (me) was constant. I will just re-record the audio with the first mic. At least it isn't a long recording.
