Cycloramic app turns iPhone into self-rotating panoramic cam

Postby Dave McElderry » Wed Nov 06, 2013 7:08 pm

I wasn't born yesterday, so I'm not sold on this yet, but at the very least it's the coolest gimmick I've seen in a long time. The Cycloramic app for iPhone controls the vibrator inside the iPhone to rotate the phone on a flat surface as it films a 360-degree HD video or panoramic still picture. I'd be very unhappy if my iPhone was damaged while falling over doing this, though.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was thinking. The app is normally $1.99 but right now it's free. It would be tempting to try except that I'm not willing to stand my phone up on end on a slick surface to try it out. Think I'll pass.

I received the muvi x-lapse for Christmas and tried it out with a GoPro. Works great. Has a holder for cell phones included.

We watched it last night, but I came in late to the show. Must have missed his presentation.

It requires me to login with my TV provider to continue. Nope, didn't see it.
